Q. When Did you start in the
Hobby.?
In 2003 i started this avian
hobby budgerigars was my choice, a 22 x 8 foot wooden aviary
was constructed to include an inside aviary and 15 breeding
cages,
Q. How many birds do you Keep and breed
per year.?
The stock i like to keep each
year is 70 with 90 chicks hatched in 2005, This year has been
slow with 13 chicks rung at this moment.
Q. How big
is your Aviary & what seed do you use .?
As i explained in question
No.1 a 22 x 8 foot wooden aviary was constructed to include an
inside aviary and 15 breeding cages, with Bucktons Champion
Blend and society being the seed given.
Q. What extras do
you feed your birds chicks.?
Chickweed when available with
Carrots, Sweetcorn, Millet sprays used, Softfood is made by
myself the above gradients used. Also Grit cuttlefish
and mineral blocks are all available to the birds.
Q. Do you
normally sell birds and what's the best
tip you have been
given ?
Yes My price is between
£10 & £20 per bird, A local champion told me Keep lots
of hens and dont let your youngsters go to soon, I Have
bought birds from good studs, Hopefully i can maintain or even
improve the quality of these birds. I enjoy visiting other
breeders and always learn something new or get a tip on
leaving.
